Brett Polen

Assistant Director & Internship Coordinator

My name is Brett Polen and I am the Assistant Director of the Career and Life Design Center & Internship Coordinator at Fort Lewis College. I work with students and employers to identify internship opportunities and develop curriculum campus wide to prepare for life after college.

I graduated from Michigan State University (Go Green!) and previously worked at the Law School for Michigan State and most recently for the Sigma Alpha Epsilon national fraternity headquarters. At SAE I worked with our undergraduate members on leadership development, conduct, and consulted on organization operations. I’ve visited over 75 colleges in the country through my travel and one in Montreal, Canada.

Outside of work, I like to hike, play hockey, lacrosse, and pretend to be a Triathlete. I moved here from Chicago, so I’m taking full advantage of the beautiful landscape Durango has to offer. On the weekends you’ll likely catch me on a trail or trying to meet my reading goal this year of 40 books.

Fun fact about me, I have an irrational fear of large boat propellers.
