Jaityn Winchell

Career Engagement Specialist

My name is Jaityn (Jay Ten) Winchell, and I am the Career Engagement Specialist with Career Services. In my position, I assist our undergrads by preparing them for their next phase, whether entering the workforce or pursuing graduate school. I help with resume reviews, cover letter reviews, mock interviews, classroom presentations, and much more with the help of our student Career Coaches.

I graduated from Fort Lewis in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in English Communications and a minor in Sociology. As a first-generation student, I was a member of TRIO and worked with our campus radio station, KDUR. After graduation, I worked in sales for a local radio station before transitioning back to FLC to work at Skyhawk Station as an Advisor. I advised for a year before finding my new role with Career Services. I loved my time as a student at FLC, and I am thankful to be back here serving the next wave of FLC graduates.

Outside of work, you can usually find me cooking something delicious or binge-watching my latest obsession on Netflix or Hulu with my fur babies. I also enjoy hiking, reading, true crime podcasts, and yoga.
